SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Moulvi Umar Farooq, has expressed profound grief over the tragic bus accident in Vodpora, Handwara, in which two young students lost their lives and several others sustained injuries.
Describing the incident as deeply heartbreaking, Mirwaiz said the untimely death of young and promising students has shaken the entire community. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and patience to help them endure this irreparable loss.
He also prayed for the swift and full recovery of the injured students and expressed solidarity with the families and the wider college community during this difficult time.
Mirwaiz further stated that such incidents serve as a reminder of the urgent need to ensure the safety and security of students during educational excursions and public travel. He expressed hope that the concerned authorities would take all necessary precautions to prevent such mishaps in the future.
Earlier in the day, a bus carrying college students on a picnic overturned in the Vodpora area of Handwara, killing two and injuring several others. Two critically injured students were referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
