Mirwaiz Expresses Grief Over Rain Havoc, Urges Swift Rescue and Relief Measures

   

SRINAGAR: Kashmir’s chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by incessant rains and flash floods in the Rajouri, Poonch and Kishtwar districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement shared on social media, Mirwaiz said he was deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives and property due to the ongoing weather-related calamity. He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with all those affected.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and all those affected by the calamity,” he said.

Mirwaiz urged the administration and rescue agencies to make every possible effort to reach people stranded in the affected areas, ensure their safety, and provide immediate relief, shelter and other essential assistance.

Praying for the well-being of those impacted, he said, “May Allah protect everyone and grant patience and strength to the families who have lost their loved ones.”
