Huriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq  in his eid message congratulated Islamic world and all those Muslims who are currently undergoing through torment of suppression on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha.

“In real terms, this Eid teaches Muslims the significance of sacrifice, sacrifice to compensate the needs of our needy brethren, and sacrifice that strengthens of our belief on Allah,” reads the statement issued to KNS.

Mirwaiz has said that as far as Jammu Kashmir is concerned, this E​id ul Adha is being celebrated at a time when the  bulk of our population is facing numerous hardships due to destruction of their property and livelihood caused by the ravaging floods. But we are hopeful that our faith in Allah (SWT) would strengthen us and we would rise like the sun in the coming days by shear determination and courage. By driving strength from Allah, we would do our every bit to rebuilt Kashmir.

“I appeal to the respected citizens, conscious people and intellectuals of the society to make people aware about Islamic teachings so that they celebrate their Eid with austerity, adding, they should also ensure that all those flood victims who have lost their everything to floods are in our thoughts and prayers.”

“On this occasion, I would also divert attention of my fellow Kashmiris towards the Kashmiri prisoners lodged in Kashmir and different jails across india.Our nation pays glorious tributes to their commitment and resolve and prays for their well being.”

Mirwaiz has also stated that on this day, we should remember the sacrifices paid by our people, may it be of their life or property, so as to realize their dream of freedom. We should remember our ancestors, young men, sisters and mothers who sacrificed their today for our tomorrow.
