JKLF Chief, among others, being taken to central Jail on Sunday.

Accusing the government of indulging in vindictive politics, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (m) Chairperson Sunday condemned the arrest of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairperson, Muhammad Yasin Malik, other JKLF leaders and Munib Ahmad War, the teenage nephew of senior Hurriyat (m) leader Engineer Hilal Ahmad War who have been arrested in “fake cases” and held at Srinagar Central Jail.

Stressing that the resistance leaders and activists were protesting against the killings of innocent Kashmiris at the hands of the notorious Village Defence Committees (VDCs), which the state forces had met with unprovoked action, the Mirwaiz said, “with this the state government had made it clear that the government was not even ready to allow peaceful protests.”

Terming the means used by the government for cowing down the resistance leadership and placing curbs on their political, religious and social activities, as undemocratic, Mirwaiz said, “placing curbs on their political, religious and social activities had become routine but promised that people and the resistance leadership would never give up and carry forward the resistance movement until Kashmir issue reaches its logical conclusion.”

Appealing the human rights organizations to take notice of the rights violations against Kashmir’s resistance leadership and the population in general which is fighting for their just Right of Self Determination, Mirwaiz said, “such tactics had failed to break the will of the people in the past and would fail in future too.”
