Condemning the action of forces during which they carried out nocturnal raids to arrest youth in Khudwani, Kulgam, Pattan and Pulwama areas of Kashmir, Hurriyat (m) spokesperson stated that forces were orchestrating “state sponsored terrorism in these areas by carrying out arrest of youth, cordoning areas and harassing civilians which has turned the lives of locals miserable”.

“The oppression of forces have reached beyond limits which has affected the commercial activities in these areas and created an atmosphere of fear and terror,” the spokesperson said Wednesday afternoon.

Senior amalgam leader, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza visited South Kashmir’s Kaimoh and Khudwani areas where he expressed solidarity with the locals, spokesperson said, adding, “he also strongly denounced the state sponsored terrorism.”

“More than 10 youth have been arrested by police and army in these areas and lodged in Awantipora and Islamabad police stations,” the statement quoted Waza as having said.

Waza stated, “forces have ransacked houses and beaten people while carrying out raids. People were being subjected to worst form of oppression and state sponsored terrorism for showing resolve and commitment towards freedom struggle.”
