Expressing grief and sorrow over the demise of senior “pro-freedom” leader of Jammu Kashmir and one of the founders of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Amanullah Khan, the Chairperson of all Parties Hurriyat Conference (m), Muhammad Umar Farooq Tuesday said his death has left behind a void that would be very difficult to fill.

In his condolence message, Mirwaiz said the departed leader dedicated his life right from his childhood to his last breath to the great cause of Kashmir’s freedom and faced uncountable problems, obstacles and difficulties while pursuing the path of “freedom of Kashmir”. He gave innumerable sacrifices but his resolve and dedication towards the goal of freedom never showed any signs of weakness.

Stressing that like a true patriot and a leader, Amanullah Khan by highlighting the issue at various international platforms had contributed in highlighting that the “resistance movement” of Kashmir was just and legitimate, he said this towering and consistent leader had to bear the atrocities in jails for raising voice for the “oppressed” people of Kashmir.

While expressing condolence and deep sympathy with the family of Amanullah Khan and the rank and file of JKLF the Mirwaiz said the resistance leader’s demise had saddened the entire Kashmiri nation and left Kashmir bereft of one of its true patriots and a towering leader.

To pay homage to the departed leader a prayer meeting led by the Umar Farooq, would be held at the APHC’s headquarters at Rajbagh on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in which glowing tributes would be paid to the deceased resistance leader besides offering prayers for him.
