Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (m) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq paid rich tributes to the two Pulwama youths, Shafi Ahmad and Farooq Ahmad, who were killed in an encounter with forces on Sunday during a gunfight with government forces in Padgampora Awantipora, a statement of the amalgam said on Monday.
Mirwaiz said that it greatly pains that our youth who are the future of our nation should sacrifice their life when they should have been living out their dreams of a bright and prosperous future. But severe oppression and occupation of their nation unfortunately forces many among them to choose the path of armed struggle, for the liberation of their motherland.
“Govt of India should give up its obduracy and admit that the political aspirations of the people of Kashmir have to be taken cognizance of and respected and suppression and subjugation as a policy cannot be continued forever,” he said.
