SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Mohammad Umar Farooq on Friday urged people to maintain faith and patience during difficult times and cultivate goodwill, compassion and forgiveness towards one another.
Addressing the Friday congregation at the historic Jama Masjid in Srinagar, Mirwaiz stressed the importance of placing trust in Almighty Allah while making sincere efforts to overcome challenges.
Referring to the Qur’anic words, “Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakeel” (Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs), he said believers should not lose hope in Allah’s mercy and wisdom, regardless of the circumstances they face.
Mirwaiz said hardships and trials are part of life and called upon people to adopt all lawful means to address their difficulties before placing their reliance on Allah.
He said sincere faith and reliance on Allah provide strength and hope during periods of uncertainty, adding that no situation is beyond Allah’s power and that relief can come in ways people may not anticipate.
He also called upon people to rid their hearts of hatred, jealousy, bitterness and resentment, and instead promote compassion, forgiveness and reconciliation.
Mirwaiz urged people to avoid harbouring grudges, support one another during difficult times and sincerely wish well for others, saying that faith should also encourage goodwill towards fellow human beings.
