Mirwaiz’s Joint Meet: Hurriyat (m) Chief Detained, Program Starts

Hours before the proposed joint meet of Hurriyat amalgams, authorities detained Hurriyat (m) chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, preventing him from attending the meet.

Mirwaiz had proposed a joint meet today at Mirwaiz Manzil in Old Srinagar city to “work out the alternative ways to take forward the movement”. He had invited Geelani led faction, JKLF and all other organizations of valley.

Kashmir Life correspondent present at Mirwaiz Manzil said that the meeting started which is being attended by members from civil society, KCCI, Jamiat-e-Ahl Hadees besides others.

A Hurriyat activist said, “Feroz Khan of Muslim League, Noor Kalwal of JKLF and Ashiq Hussain Sofi Tehreek-e-Hurriyat have been detained in police station Khanyar.”
