Body of a 60-year-old man who was missing since March 6 was recovered from a marshy land in Soura area of Srinagar district on Monday.
Station House Officer (SHO) Soura, Tanveer Ahmad told newsagency GNS that soon after receiving the information, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the marshy land.
The police officer identified the deceased as Jalaldin Dar (60), a resident of Noorpora, Tral in Awantipora.
“A case under 174 CrPc has been registered and further investigations were taken up to ascertain the cause of death,” SHO said.
He said that a missing report regarding Dar was lodged in police station Awantipora on March 07.
According to reports, Dar was a labourer by profession.
