A Kashmiri student Adil Yousuf Teli, studying in Jhalander has been arrested by cyber cell Delhi.

Reports said police has been investigating some hacking case in which student was arrested.

“We got him located, he has been arrested by the Cyber Cell Delhi and is involved in a hacking case,” SP Kulgam Harmit Singh said. “We are in touch with the Cell and in the process of informing his family.”

Earlier reports said that a Kashmiri student Adil Yousuf Teli, studying in Jhalander was kidnapped by eight unidentified men, allegedly carrying guns and pistols, on Friday morning from his rented room at Mithu Basti area of Jhalander city.

According to the family, Adil a BCA student at Saint Soldier College in Jhalander was picked by eight armed men along with his belongings including his books, laptop and other things.

One of the students studying with Adil told Kashmir Life over the phone that “since he was picked they have searched every nook and corner of the area to look for his whereabouts.

A spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Police, in a statement, said the student, identified as Adil Hussain Teli of Kulgam, was “taken into custody by the Cyber Cell of Delhi police and is being investigated for his alleged involvement in hacking and economic offences.”

He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police was in touch with their counterparts in Delhi.

The police spokesman said the “matter was instantly taken up with the officials of Punjab Police”.

“The family of the said person as per the rules has been informed about it.”
