SRINAGAR: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Eidgah, Mubarak Gul, on Saturday sought Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s intervention for the early release of a Srinagar youth who has been held in Myanmar after falling victim to a fake job letter.
Faizan Rasool, a 28-year-old man from Safakadal, Srinagar, has allegedly been held hostage in Myanmar, with his family claiming that his captors are demanding Rs 4.5 lakh for his release.
Raising the issue in the Assembly, Gul urged the Chief Minister to take immediate action. “I have been receiving calls from my constituents since morning, asking me to raise this issue in the House. I request Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to speak to the Foreign Affairs Minister for the youth’s early release so that he can be reunited with his family,” Gul said. (KB)
