SRINAGAR: Mobile Internet services remained suspended for the second consecutive day on Saturday in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The reason behind the shutdown has not been made public, however, the connections were snapped on Friday when the news of cross LoC shelling in multiple sectors of Kupwara and Baramulla districts emerged.

The disruption has restricted the ability of the people of the frontier district to communicate and also affected the students preparing for exams.

When Kashmir Life tried to reach authorities for comments, they didn’t respond to repeated phone calls.

Earlier, barring two districts, the administration extended the restrictions on high-speed internet till November 26 across Jammu and Kashmir. The order issued by the home department cited security reasons in view of the upcoming DDC and Panchayat elections.
