TANGMARG

Project Arrow Tangmarg Post Office was dedicated today by minister of Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir in presence of John Samuel, Chief Post Master General, Jammu and Kashmir. A function was held at Town Hall, Tangmarg where students of Tyndale Biscoe presented cultural programmes.

Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Hassan Mir has said that the Modernisation of Tangmarg Post Office will serve the people of Tangmarg in a much better way. He has said that in the recent years Post Office has been involved in the development of its services on a large scale. He added that Samuel has been working for the upliftment of postal services in J&K ever since he has joined modernising Post Offices, adding more staff and introducing new services.

The Minister expressed the need for opening of new Post offices in far off areas where modern means of communication are not available. The Minister added that Post Office has a great potential to grow and serve the peole.

John Samuel, Chief Post Master General, J&K Circle while addressing the gathering said that department is committed to serve the people of J&K in the best possible way. He said the department is now focusing on modernising Post Offices in Sub- Urban areas. Speaking on the demands of the local people, he announced that Post Office at Kunzer will be upgraded and new Post Office will be opened at Dobhiwan.

To facilitate the people of the area and tourists visiting Gulmarg and Tangmarg, Post Office with all latest facilities has been dedicated to the public. The Post Office will function from 9 am to 5 pm and shall provide all Postal facilities like Letter Post, Savings Bank and Insurance facilities. A Post Shop has also been provided to facilitate packaging and stationery needs of customers. The Post Office will also sell high quality Saffron.
