While stressing that the Modi govt has refused any help to flood victims of Kashmir, senior congress leader Prof Saifuddin Soz said that the people of Kashmir have characterized it as “discrimination by Modi Govt” against them.

Soz was interacting to a delegation of senior professional staff members on foreign relations of US senate, Charlotte Oldham, Moore Damian Murphy and John E-Zak, political officer US Embassy in India.

“The US delegation had a very interesting interaction with me and I explained my position on the subjects that came under discussion,” Soz said in a statement issued here, adding “it was an unfortunate development that the talks were cancelled. It was wrong on the part of Modi Govt to stipulate conditions as Govt of India has taken a consistent position on Kashmir and its stand has been appreciated internationally and therefore, all issues could be discussed.”

Soz, according to the statement, further said that unfortunately, Modi has not allowed a credible system of consultation either within his own party or with the non-BJP opposition.

Soz stressed, “dialogue is the only way to move forward to strengthen cordial neighbourly relations with Pakistan.”
