Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the BJP’s campaign in Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections and is likely to address around eight election rallies across the three regions of the state beginning in the first half of November.

“The PM is likely to address a rally in the Valley first, and the dates are being finalized for public meetings in Jammu and Ladakh. We’ve planned around seven to eight rallies by the PM and there might be more if needed,” party sources said.

“You will see many surprises in the coming days. The BJP is going to lure several big leaders of different political parties. We’re in touch with leaders of many parties and are about to seal the deal,” they added.

Pushing for their own majority in Jammu & Kashmir, top BJP functionaries are meeting a cross-section of people including retired bureaucrats and police officers, regional political party members to strengthen the party base in the Valley, sources said.

Many political commentators are of the opinion that the BJP’s impact will be visible in Jammu, adding however its style of polarization would have no takers in Valley.
