SRINAGAR: Cyber Police in Kashmir have initiated action against an alleged fraudulent company, ‘Curative Survey Private Limited,’ for deceiving the public in Jammu and Kashmir through a misleading website. The financial scam, which surfaced in Srinagar, involved duping investors who had entrusted their hard-earned money to the company, prompting a protest from the victims.

Investors claimed that they were enticed with promises of doubling their money within 15 days. Initially, they received the promised returns, but as time passed, the company became unresponsive, causing doubts among the investors.

An FIR filed against the company stated that it had scammed individuals, mainly students and housewives, by enticing them to invest with false promises of substantial returns. The company, after misleading and defrauding investors, suddenly became unresponsive, leading to chaos and protests.

The FIR, based on information received, alleges offences under U/S 66D of the IT Act and Section 420 of the IPC. The case (FIR No. 39/2023) has been registered, and an Inspector-ranked officer has been assigned to investigate.

A joint team of Cyber Police and a magistrate sealed the company’s office located in the Karanagar area of Srinagar. Additionally, raids were conducted at five related locations, resulting in the seizure of electronic gadgets and documents linked to the financial fraud worth crores.

The exact total of investments across the valley is still being investigated. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway, and strict action will be taken against the accused individuals.
