SRINAGAR: A 22-year-old man who was critically injured while crossing the line of control (LOC) in Poonch district last month succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning, officials said.
Quoting sources, Kashmir Scroll reported that Yasir Nazir, son of Nazir Ahmad Hussain, from the Karmada area sustained injuries 15 days ago while attempting to cross the Line of Control (LOC) in the Poonch sector. He was immediately admitted to GMC Jammu for medical treatment for his injured condition.
“Yasir was shot at by Army troops when he attempted to escape after being signalled to stop while trying to smuggle narcotic substances from across the border. A packet containing drugs was seized from him at the time of his arrest,” they added.
His case was registered under FIR no. 155/23 U/S 8(a)/21/22 NDPS Act, 2/3 EIMCO.
