Kashmir’s Grand Mufti Nasir-ul Islam said that the moon has not been sighted anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir and that the first day of the fasting month will be on April 25 (Saturday).

“There is no evidence of sighting of Ramadhan moon anywhere in Kashmir or Jammu region. So, the first day of the holy month will be on April 25,” newsagency KNO quoted  Islam as saying.

He urged people to maintain social distancing and to pray all mandatory and Taraweeh prayers at home to prevent the spread of Covid-19 Pandemic.
