SRINAGAR: The holy month of Ramzan will begin tomorrow (Sunday) in Jammu and Kashmir as the moon has been sighted, announced J&K Grand Mufti on Saturday.

He said that moon sightings have been reported from various places and other places.

“The moon marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadhan has been sighted. The holy month will begin from April 03,” news agency KNO quoted Mufti Nasir as having said. He said that the first Tarawih prayers will be offered tonight (Saturday).

Mufi Nasir urged the people of Kashmir to pray for the peace and prosperity of the Valley and to spend time seeking repentance for sins and freedom from hellfire from Almighty Allah in the blessed month of Ramadhan.
