Mortar shells continue to rattle LoC in Poonch for 3rd consecutive day

For the third consecutive day today on Wednesday the armies of India and Pakistan continue exchanging heavy mortar shelling in Mendar sector of Poonch district.

A civilian has suffered injuries in fresh shelling in Sandote Balakote, Media reports said, adding, heavy shelling was going on in Balakote sector of Mendhar sub-division.

The injured has been identified as Ahmad Raza, 20, son of Abdul Hamied.

Pakistan on Tuesday claimed that two civilians were killed and 13 others wounded in firing by Indian side along the Line of Control in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

A soldier was killed in a sniper fire by Pakistan army at Nowgam area of Kupwara district yesterday afternoon, claimed India.

Another soldier was killed in Pakistani firing in Nowshera area of Rajouri.
