SRINAGAR: At least three persons including a woman and her two daughters were burnt alive, while the husband of the deceased lady among two persons were injured in a blaze that broke out in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
“On Wednesday evening, huts located in the Hamer Gali panchayat of Bingara village, caught fire which spread quickly, trapping the occupants. Police rushed to the spot and helped extinguish the fire, but three people were pronounced dead at the scene,” officials said.
They added that a medical team along with two ambulances from PHC Ukheral were deputed to the spot and the injured persons were shifted to PHC Ukheral. “The cause of the fire is being ascertained.”
Meanwhile, Mohita Sharma, SSP Ramban in a tweet confirmed the death of three person in the incident.
“INCIDENT: Three temporary huts have caught fire in village Bingara at Hammer Dhok. 3 persons have died and 2 in critical condition. Shifted to PHC Ukheral. Police party onspot,” Mohita tweeted.
She further identified the deceased as Najma Begum, wife of Ibrahim (25), Iqra Banoo, daughter of Ibrahim (2) and Assma Banoo, daughter of Ibrahim (6). She also identified the injured as Ibrahim, son of Bobiya (35) and Mirja Begum, wife of Noorani (55)—(KNO)
