SRINAGAR: Respected religious scholar and educationist Moulana Noor Ahmad Trali is no more. He is reported to have passed away after a brief illness. He was around 75.
A resident of main Tral town, Trali belonged to a respected and religious family. He was also running an educational institution, Darool-ul-Aloom Noor-ul-Islam Tral. It basically is an educational complex (Islamic Oriental College) that is being run by an old 9-member trust which Trali was heading. Earlier, it was his father who was running this institution. His wife has passed away in 2016.
Though Trali has always remained busy with religious education, police did arrest him in March 2019 during a nocturnal raid. However, after the town went into a flash strike, Moulana was set free within less than 24 hours.
Reports said Moulana was unwel and had been driven to Srinagar where he was admitted to the MHS Hospital. He breathed his last in the hospital ate Thursday evening, He is being laid to rest on Friday at their ancestral graveyard.
