National Conference (NC) has condoled the ‘untimely’ demise of Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari and has said that his death has left a void that will be long felt in the religious and political arena of the State. In a condolence message, National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has extended heartfelt condolences to the family and followers of Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari and prayed for peace to the departed soul. Terming Moulvi Ansari’s  contributions as a religious scholar and public representative as historic and commendable, Dr. Farooq Abdullah has said that he was personally grieved at this loss.

Veteran NC Leader, Sheikh Nazir Ahmed has also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and followers of Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari and said that his work as a religious leader and political figure would be remembered for a long time to come. NC’s General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar has also condoled the demise of Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari and said that this was a great loss to the followers of the religious leader and had created a vacuum in the State that would take a long time to fill.

NC Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani and Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu have also expressed grief and sorrow over the untimely demise of Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Senior National Conference Leaders, including Ministers, Members of Parliament, Legislators and Office Bearers of the party have condoled Moulvi Iftikhar’s demise. Various Senior National Conference leaders participated in the Nimaaz-e-Jinaaza of Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari at Zadibal and visited the late cleric’s residence at Qamarwari to express their condolences.
