SRINAGAR: The Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) on Monday said that development works worth over Rs 21 lakh have been sanctioned under the MPLADS funds of Baramulla MP Er Rashid for the financial year 2025–26.
In a statement issued to the media, AIP said that the District Development Commissioner Baramulla has accorded administrative approval for projects aimed at strengthening education infrastructure and promoting eco-tourism in the constituency.
According to the statement, Rs 3.00 lakh has been approved for the development of Dariyan (Kutru Nari Bal) as an eco-tourism destination. The project includes the installation of benches, construction of a gazebo, the development of viewpoints and improvement of visitor facilities to promote sustainable tourism.
An additional Rs 3.00 lakh has been sanctioned for levelling the playground at Government Degree College Baramulla to augment sports infrastructure for students.
Further, Rs 15.019 lakh has been approved for the purchase of a Tata Winger 17-seater school bus for Government Degree College Uri to facilitate transportation, particularly for students from remote areas.
The party said the sanctioned works reflect the MP’s focus on education, youth development and sustainable tourism in North Kashmir, adding that efforts will continue to ensure effective utilisation of MPLADS funds for public welfare.
