The remarks were made in response to CM Omar Abdullah’s recent “cloudburst” comment, which has triggered political reactions across the Valley. Reacting to the statement, Ruhullah said, “Since becoming Chief Minister in 2024, Omar Abdullah has only ‘burst’ upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir. I hope this time the cloudburst is directed at those in power at the Centre, against whom people have voted democratically and institutionally.”

He further said, “I know that since he became Chief Minister in 2024, he has raised his voice only against the Kashmiri people.”

When asked whether his “big announcement” indicated a possible political realignment, Ruhullah declined to elaborate, saying, “You will see it. I will see it.”

The MP also spoke on several other issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, including the National Conference’s recent party meeting, the reservation policy, the party’s setback in the Budgam elections, evolving political dynamics in the Union Territory, and his dissatisfaction with the National Conference.
