Mudslide Halts Traffic on Jammu-Srinagar Highway in Ramban

   

SRINAGAR: Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was suspended in both directions on Friday afternoon after a mudslide hit the Chamba Seri area of Ramban district. Officials from the traffic department said that the landslip caused a complete halt in vehicular movement, and road clearance operations are currently underway.

An official said that movement from both sides has been stopped and advised commuters to avoid travelling on NH-44 until the road is cleared. Authorities have requested travellers to check the latest road status through the official social media platforms of the traffic police, including Twitter and Facebook.
