The PDP patron and the former JK chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is dismayed by the dismal performance of his party’s sitting legislators who lost the battle of 2014 state elections on Tuesday, party sources said.

Sources told KNS that the PDP patron is deeply anguished over the loss of several sitting PDP MLAs during the ongoing state elections, saying that the results indicate that they were not in close coordination with the people of their respective areas.

Mufti, according to sources has also censured the sitting legislators who lost the battle, saying they might not have been privy to peoples’ issues in their respective areas.

The PDP’s sitting MLAs who lost  the polls during Tuesday’s results include Bandipora MLA Nizzam-ud-din Bhat, Abdul Gaffar Sofi of Homeshali Bugh, Peerzada Mansoor from Shangus , Dr Shafi Ahmad Wani from Beerwah, Devsar’s Sartaj Madani and Rafi Ahmad Mir from South Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

Had the sitting legislators witnessed their victory during the 2014 polls, there would have been 36.
