JAMMU
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed last night called on the Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and discussed the issue of government formation with him.
Sources said that Mufti met Governor at Raj Bhawan last night.
Both had a 2-hour dinner meeting and are understood to have discussed the issue of government formation.
However, PDP sources did not confirm the meeting.
Governor Vohra had earlier set January 19 deadline for formation of the government in the state.
The PDP has emerged as the largest party with 28 seats in the 87-member Assembly but way short of a majority.
Governor’s rule was imposed in the state on January 8 after Omar Abdullah refused to continue as caretaker Chief Minister.
PDP should join with BJP and form the government. The chief minister should be from PDP. This would bind all the people from J & K and bring about the required change!
