Governor N N Vohra hosted an ‘At Home’ at Raj Bhavan lawns, here this evening, to celebrate 66th Republic Day.

People Democratic Party (PDP) patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and National Conference Working President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were among the prominent persons attended the ‘At Home’.

Sources said that both Mufti and Omar were sitting on left and right sides respectively with Governor for nearly 20 minutes. “However, the two leaders didn’t exchange any pleasantries and were all the time busy in talking to Vohra,” they said.

Besides Mufti and Omar, Mubarak Gul, Judges of the High Court; MPs; Legislators; leaders of various social and political organizations were among the prominent persons who attended the ‘At Home’. State BJP chief and MLA Jugal Kishor Sharma, PDF chairman and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin, CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Kulgam M Y Tarigami, also attended the function.

The ‘At Home’ was also attended by Director General Police K Rajendra, Chief Vigilance Commissioner, Kuldeep Khoda, Home Secretary Suresh Kumar, J&K Bank Chairman Mushtaq Ahmad, Principal Secretary B B Viyas, Director Information Mukhtar-ul-Aziz  and senior Civil, Police and Security Forces officers, Vice Chancellors; media persons and prominent citizens from all walks of life.

Meanwhile, in Srinagar also an ‘At Home’ was hosted by the  Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal at SKICC.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir, AG. Mir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Senior civil and Police officers besides, senior citizens attended the function.
