IPS officer S Asif Ibrahim has been cleared to be the first Muslim boss of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). He will be replacing Nehchal Sandhu who retires on December 31.

Asif, a 1977 batch IPS officer, made it to the top slot because of his wide range of experience in covering various departments of the organization, which mainly deal with intelligence pertaining to internal security, newspapers reported.
