Pranab Mukherjee, President of India, in a letter to Governor NN Vohra, has expressed sadness on learning about the loss of lives and injuries caused by the flash floods triggered by the cloudburst on the 24th July near the Baltal Base Camp.
An official statement said Thursday evening that the President has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have lost their near and dear ones and called upon the State Government and other agencies to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families and medical assistance to the injured. He has wished speedy recovery to the injured persons and hoped for sooner location of missing persons.
