SRINAGAR: A flash flood triggered widespread devastation in the Loran-Dumilan border area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday, where six to seven people were feared dead after a reported landslide struck a residential house. Several others were reportedly injured, while many remained missing, according to reports.
The flood reportedly caused extensive damage in the Dumilan area, where several people were caught in the deluge.
Police, civil administration officials and local volunteers rushed to the affected area after receiving information about the incident. Search and rescue operations have been launched to trace the missing and provide assistance to those affected.
BJP leader Ravinder Raina, in a post on X, said a devastating landslide struck a residential house in the Loran area, trapping a family inside. He said six to seven people were feared to have lost their lives in the incident.
