At least five rounds of funeral prayers were held for the slain militant killed in Turigam area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir.
Reports said that thousands of people from various areas of south Kashmir reached Turigam village of the district to participate in the last rites of the slain militant Raqib Ahmed Sheikh, son of Mohammad Amin Sheikh, in Shiganpora village.
The body of Raqib, who belonged to JeM outfit, was recovered from the encounter site in Turigam last evening. Police earlier said that incriminating material was also recovered from the site of the encounter, and the other two slain militants have been identified as Waleed and Numan, foreigners from Pakistan.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Kulgam district against the killing of local Militant.
