SRINAGAR: The government has shifted IGP Kashmir S J M Geelani and Munir Khan has been sent as his successor. The two actually swapped their places.
A GAD order said the decision was taken as per the recommendations made by the committee constituted under section 22 of the State Vigilance Commission.
With Khan replacing Geelani, Kashmir has now two brothers at two vital positions. Baseer Ahmad Khan is Divisional Commissioner and Munir Khan is the IGP.
While the GAD order detailed Geelani’s appointment, it was silent about his successor.
