Accused of killing his brother, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, resident of Mala, Akad Islamabad was arrested in case FIR number 14/2013 under section 302 RPC in Police Station Mattan, Bhat Wednesday morning jumped the wall of the police station and ran away.
Protests erupted in the area. Scores of people started protesting against the police on Khanabal Phalgam Road. They accused police of managing the safe escape of the accused from the custody, who allegedly few days ago killed his brother, Muhammad Shafi Bhat.
Senior police officials reached on the spot, pacified the protesters. Police parties were dispatched to different location to apprehend the accused and was finally re-arrested from Srigufwara area.
