A young girl (name withheld) of Kharbatpora Ratnipora died under mysterious circumstances on Friday. The death has led to protests in the village.
Reports reaching here said that the girl was allegedly molested by a bank employee after she had gone to the bank for some work. The employee was identified as Aijaz Ahmad, a peon.
“She came crying and felt unconscious at her home, she was taken to hospital where she was declared brought dead,” reports quoting her family sources said.
They said as soon as the news spread in the area, locals staged a protest demonstration. Police swung into action and resorted to tear smoke shelling to disperse the protesters.
Police sources said the employee has been arrested and the investigations taken up.
