Protests erupted in north Kashmir’s Sumbal Sunday following a “mysterious disappearance” of a local youth.
Riyaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Ahad Beigh, of Wangipora Sumbal has been reportedly missing since Friday.
The youth, according to locals, was working as a distributor with Aircel Communications and was also general secretary of a local traders association.
Meanwhile, DIG North Gareeb Das told Kashmir Life that police have taken up investigation after tracing Riyaz’s last phone in Srinagar. “Investigation is going on and all modalities are being discussed,” DIG said.
