Curfew like restrictions continued for the second day in Bandipora district and old city of Srinagar on Sunday following protests after police firing killed a young boy in Naidkhai.

However, clashes erupted in many parts of Bandipora district.

Reports said that protesters fought pitched battles with paramilitary CRPF and police in the main town Bandipora and Hajin.

According to reports, forces used tear gas canisters to disperse the angry demonstrators.

Separatist groups had called for a valley-wide strike for today across Kashmir against the killing.

Farhat Ahmad Dar was killed in Naidkhai area of Bandipora district in police firing on Friday.

A magisterial probe has been ordered into the killing.
