SRINAGAR: Four independent MLAs have extended support to the National Conference taking the number of lawmakers in the party to 46, the majority mark in the 90-member House.
Pyare Lal Sharma, Satish Sharma, Choudhary Mohammed Akram, and Dr Rameshwar Singh – who won the Inderwal, Chhamb, Surankote, and Bani seats – have backed the NC.
National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah said that discussions with Congress are ongoing to form the government and that he will soon visit Raj Bhawan to meet the Lieutenant Governor to stake a claim for government formation.
