SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Saturday said that the National Conference is dedicated to restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, and that they consider the region a state, not a Union Territory.
Speaking to reporters, Choudhary said that JKNC is firm on restoring statehood and reiterated their commitment to fighting against the forces responsible for downgrading JK to a Union Territory.
He also emphasised the need for security forces to strengthen their measures, perform their duties diligently, and ensure that terror attacks cease.
Choudhary highlighted the lack of representation Jammu and Kashmir has faced over the past decade due to the absence of a stable government.
“We were distanced from the people under the previous regime, which often overlooked issues that matter most to Kashmiris. Now, we are committed to addressing these concerns,” he added. — (KNO)
