National Conference on Friday reiterated its commitment to protect J&K’s Special Status and safeguarding the unique political and cultural identity that forms the basis of the State’s relationship with the rest of the country.

Addressing party leaders and office bearers at the monthly Provincial Committee Meeting held at Party Head Office, ‘Nawa-e-Subha’ in Srinagar, NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar asked the party leaders to continue with their awareness campaign about intrigues being hatched by the powers that be against Article 35-A and the State’s Special Status and said the party would not allow anyone to barter the interests of the State for their own nefarious interests.

Addressing the monthly Provincial Committee Meeting at Nawa-e-Subah, Sagar reviewed the ground activities of the party in Kashmir Province and took stock of various organizational initiatives and matters along with National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani and the Zone Presidents, Muhammad Akbar Lone and Ali Muhammad Dar.

The NC General Secretary and Provincial President also asked the party leaders to work closely with the grassroots workers in addressing pressing public issues and concerns in their respective areas. “Our workers are the backbone of the party and all efforts should be made to involve the youth in evolving ways to strengthen the party and also reach out to the people who are facing the worst possible era of mis-governance and political instability due to the opportunistic alliance that is at the helm in the State”, the NC General Secretary said.

The Provincial Committee Meeting was attended by senior Central office bearers including District Presidents, Provincial Office Bearers and party legislators including NC Chief Spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Nazir Ahmed Khan (Gurezi), Altaf Ahmed Kaloo, Abdul Majeed Larmi, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabar, and others.
