SRINAGAR: The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is a transformative initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, designed to simplify the scholarship application process for students.

Here, students can access a wide range of scholarships offered by various government departments and organisations that provide them with financial assistance.

Currently, the schemes available include a national scholarship for postgraduate studies, a pre- and post-matriculation scholarship for students with disabilities, scholarships for top-class education for students with disabilities, the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship, and the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students.

To be eligible, candidates must meet the specific criteria set by the scholarship they are applying for, such as income limits, academic qualifications, or category-based reservations.

To apply, students need to create an account on the NSP portal, fill out the scholarship application form with accurate information, and upload the required documents

The documents typically include proof of identity, residence, income certificates, and educational certificates, among others.

Further candidates are advised to keep Aadhaar ready, link your mobile number with Aadhaar, and create a seed bank account with Aadhar.
