Condemning the killing of fifth youth by the government forces in Shopian, senior separatist leader and National Front Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan has called for protests against the killing spree in every nook and corner of Kashmir on Friday.

Khan in a party statement said, “Killings by government forces are intolerable and the blood of Kashmiri people is not so cheap that the occupational forces can kill any person.” He added, “This situation is unacceptable and the occupational forces have to face stiff resistance.”

Khan said that New Delhi is playing a dangerous game through the hands of ‘local collaborators’ and the results of it will be very harsh.

“After first killing four innocents and then another unarmed youth, the irony is that Indian forces are not allowing the people even to cry and condole each other and for this purpose they have clamped strict curfew in the Shopian town,” Khan said.

While praising the courage and steadfastness of the people of Shopian, Khan has said, “The people of Shopian have to remain vigilant against the elements that are hell bent to damage the freedom struggle.” And added that the people of Shopian must prove that to protect the minority community is our foremost obligation.

As per the spokesperson of the party Khan has also expressed grief over the mysterious death of senior separatist leader, Abdul Rashid Gazi of Baramulla and demanded that the cause of his death should be made public after a thorough investigation.
