Senior separatist leader and National Front Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan has expressed his concern about the continuous house arrest of aged and ailing Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani.

“Though the judiciary knows everything because all the happenings are taking place under its nose, still it reserved the judgment about Geelani Sahab’s petition despite the fact that the continuous house arrest has affected the health conditions of Geelani Sahab,” Khan said while speaking at a party function in Pattan.

“India must accept the stark reality about the Kashmir dispute and it should take genuine and serious steps to resolve this political issue to the satisfaction of the suffering masses of Kashmir,”Khan said adding, “New Delhi is keeping its eyes closed from the Himalayan fact that Jammu Kashmir is a disputed territory.”

“To deceive its own self and people, New Delhi is using oppressive measures to curb the resistance movement,” Khan said adding, “India and its local collaborators have jailed our hundreds of pro-freedom people in Tihar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan and the jails of J&K only to crush the genuine voice of Kashmiris”.

Khan recalled the ‘sacrifices’ and the ‘plight’ of the people in jails like Mohammad Ayoub Dar, Mohammad Ayoub Mir, Dr. Shafi Sharyati, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Dr Mohammad Qasim, Engineer Farooq Ahmad Dar, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Masrat Aalam Bhat, Mir Hafiz Ullah, Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Farooq Ahmad Daga and Noor Mohammad etc.

“Kashmiris can never forget their brothers who are in jails because these people are facing every sort of oppression only for the freedom of their homeland and Kashmiri people are well aware about it,” Khan said.

He said that Kashmiri people are well aware about the Indian policy but they are silent only because of fare. “The irony is that New Delhi and its collaborators are calling it peace,” he said.
