National Front (NF) Chairman and senior Hurriyat (M) leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan Wednesday was released but re-arrested immediately. Khan was released after Pattan court had dismissed the case against him under which he was arrested on March 8,2013.
Khan was arrested under a case registered in Police station Pattan under FIR No 5/2000. According to statement from the NF, Khan was not produced in the court of Pattan. The Court had finally directed the police to produce Nayeem Khan on March 19, ‘but it again failed to do so.’
Pertinently, Khan was not produced before the court five consecutive times after his arrest.
Nayeem’s lawyer, advocate Rafiq Ahmad Joo submitted the court orders with central jail Srinagar authorities on Wednesday, after which he was released.Immediately after his release, ‘under some unknown’ case Khan was re-arrested.
