Srinagar:

Senior leaders of opposition National Conference and Congress in a meeting held here have concluded that the two will contest Lok Sabha bye-polls together through seat sharing arrangement for Srinagar and Islamabad, sources said. The two seats fell vacant because of Ms Mufti taking over as Chief Minister and Tariq Hameed Karra resigning from PDP and Lok Sabha.

Former JK CM and NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah is going to contest from Srinagar while JK Congress chief G A Mir will contest from Islamabad Lok Sabha seat, sources added.

Sources said that senior leaders of both NC and Congress held a meeting on Tuesday and decided to go for pre-poll alliance on seat sharing basis.

Sources in Congress while talking to Kashmir Life said that both the parties have decided to go for pre-poll alliance.

It will be interesting to see that Karra, now a Congressman campaigning for Dr Farooq, the man whom he defeated in last exercise.
