Jammu: National Conference Legislator and MLA Mendhar Javed Rana on Thursday alleged that Muslims living in Rasana village of Kathua are harassed by the majority community after they protested against the rape and murder of an eight-year-old Bakerwal girl from the area. Rana alleged that some goons have cut off the drinking water supply to Muslim houses.

As soon as the question hour started, Rana stood up from his seat and told the house that Muslims living in Rasana area are being harassed by the goons in Samba.

“The anti-social elements have cut off drinking water supply to the Muslims living in the area,” Rana told the house. He demanded the water supply be restored immediately.

The rape and murder of Bakerwal girl shook Kashmir as protest rallies demanding action against the accused were taken out across the state. Locals alleged that the administration is shielding accused because of pressure from ruling collation partner BJP.
