Interacting with the locals, Kamal was informed that a lane through a locality of Thathri was flooded by the flash flood causing extensive damage to the structures on both sides as also claimed six precious lives: four of Nagni, and one each of Gandoh and Balgran. As many as 12 persons were injured: six from Thathri , four from Bonjwah and one from Gandoh . Thirty sheep were washed away by the natural calamity.

Kamaal expressed his surprise and dismay over government’s failure in responding to the crisis even though two ministers had visited the site. Even the basic help that the DC is offering to the victims of such tragedies, from Red Cross, has not come to the villagers, so far.

People complained that some concrete work of the central drain of this lane had obstructed free flow of water which resulted in this tragedy. Had this incident taken place during the day the damage would have been colossal especially of human life, they told the visiting leader.

Kamal was accompanied by Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy and Tanvir Ahmed Kichloo, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, Mohammadd Farooq Mughal , Shamim Ahmed Block and Qazi Jalal-Ud-Din Vice.
