National Conference leaders and workers Monday visited the grave of Late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah at Hazratbal here and offered fateh besides placing floral wreath on his grave whose 111th birth anniversary was observed amid chill.

Besides part workers and Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah other leaders of the party including Mian Altaf, Nasir Aslam Wani, Saifullah, Bashir Veeri, Chowdary Muhammad Ramzan and others were also present and offered special prayers to the late leader.

In his address former Chief Minister and party patron Dr Farooq Abdullah offered allegiance to Hurriyat for “Azadi” saying that in pursuit of the ongoing movement NC was with them not against them.

“Be united and move ahead, We are with you (Hurriyat) not against you and we have given our entire lives for this movement,” Farooq said addressing party workers at the mausoleum of his father and former Prime Minister of Jammu Kashmir, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah on his 111st birth anniversary.

“We’ll never be free until we are united and I am telling NC workers not to stay away from this movement.”

However, Farooq quickly added that his party was not ready to tread on the “wrong path”.

“We have struggled before and wasted our whole life on this (Kashmir movement). I am telling you from this sacred place: “Move ahead, we are with you until you keep treading the right path. And until you can guide this nation on the right path,” said Abdullah. (CNS)
